Having had a bad experience with another agency that helped me find work in the South of England, the truth was that I was quite nervous about having to re-trust an agency. After looking for a lot of months, I found in Enfermeras FM a constant support to find a job as a nurse somewhere with a good reputation in the UK, which is not easy since the adaptation in hospitals is hard.
They helped me prepare my interview, contacted me frequently to offer me different offers and kept in contact with the agency that carried the procedures in the UK to avoid any error or omission. I am delighted to have trusted them.
Regarding my experience in UK, the truth that despite being better than two years ago when I lived my first experience in this country, it is still hard to see the days go by and feel that you have a small void that you do not fill with anything or anyone. It is hard to be away from your family and friends, but you always know people here, especially Spaniards, since among us there are true relationships of friendship.
The people are very kind on the floor where I work, they have helped me from the first day, they encourage me when they see in my face anxiety or stress due to the constant physical effort that requires working in a hospital and, above all, the mental effort due to That you are constantly speaking a language that is not yours. The patients are very nice and they are interested in knowing how you are, which is appreciated.
But, there is always a “but”, I can compare my stay before and after the vote of the Brexit and the truth that is palpably palpated the preferences of people. The city in which I live, York, is a very touristy and really beautiful city, worthy of admiration, but unsure if we go out at night.
The salary is lower if I compare it with the one I had before, but it is because taxes have been raised and that the change with the euro is no longer as profitable.
Regarding the accommodation, it is very difficult to find a flat, since they are very expensive and in addition, almost all that are offered are unfurnished and require a very high investment. The problem is that when you do not know the time you are going to be here, it does not pay to buy furniture and you have to look very much. To this you add, that suddenly, when you have completed the paperwork to start with the floor, they tell you that it is no longer available.
The transportation is wonderful in this country, the train lines take you anywhere and it is a very comfortable transportation. And if we add that you have to catch a plane, they will safely take you from where you live to the same airport, although you may have to make a couple of stops or some change.
The standard of living is much higher than in Spain, but if you know how to handle the economy, there is no problem.
As a summary of my experience in UK, I know that my site is in Spain someday, sooner or later, but I recommend living it, it enhances you as a person and professional. I am a different person thanks to the decision to come since your way of seeing life changes, you learn to value more people around you and also, your mind will open even more if it fits.
